WHO AM I?

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. I migrated to the United States (US) 10 years ago with my extended family. I lived in Florida upon arriving in the US but recently moved to New York City in 2019 for graduate school at Columbia University Medical Center where I am studied Occupational Therapy. I am a vibrant, eloquent, and enthusiastic young millennial. My goal is to share my journey throughout my life as a student and as I transition into my career field.

THINGS I ENJOY DOING

While I spend most of my time studying or sitting in class daily, I still try to find time for leisure activities. I enjoy going to museums in the city, going to the beach, watching and writing. Most of all I love to cook and explore art and photography.

Blog

If you grew up in the Caribbean then you know how important it is to learn how to cook at an early age. And early meaning at least ages 9 or 10. Cooking is my passion, it gives me joy and peace to try new dishes that I have never tried before. Most importantly, it affords me the ability to venture outside of the norm of my traditional Jamaican Dishes and try foods from around the world.

My Mantra

” If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
